In Recent Years, July Yields a Record Number of Car Accident Fatalities
The month of July reportedly has the highest number of catastrophic accidents & fatalities. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports over 3,000 vehicular accident related deaths. As we come out of a holiday weekend, it isn’t hard to understand why – Distracted drivers, party goers and busy families are all meeting on the open road. Locally, I noticed highway traffic and construction signs reporting traffic deaths and the drastic percentage increase.
It’s hard not to notice the increase in traffic reported by local police and the general activity in our neighborhoods as we kick off the month of July with 4th of July celebrations. As we rush to attend or host family gatherings, shop sales at local retailers, or even prepare for a relaxing weekend with family, it all leads to increased traffic on the road. Couple that with decreased attention span and awareness, and catastrophic accidents become more prevalent than ever.
A Momentary Distraction can have a Steep Price
As a catastrophic accident attorney in Ohio, I have seen too many injuries and fatalities that were completely preventable. It is sobering to witness first hand what happens when an individual takes his/her eyes off the road, even for a moment. Too often it results in the loss of a child, parent, spouse or friend. In an instant, nothing will ever be the same for the victim and family. Same is true for the driver at fault; killing someone because of his/her negligence will undoubtedly have a profound effect.
While I urge you to exercise caution and proper driving etiquette this summer, I also urge you to contact my office if you or someone you love has been the victim of an accident due to operator carelessness or negligence. Get the compensation you need, when your family needs it most.
As your Ohio Catastrophic Accident Attorney, I’ll be there for you, and I’ll Make Them Pay!®
