Tim jumped into the mix at Baldwin Wallace University to help out with the third annual BW Beatles Festival in March 2013.
Opening the main concert, Tim warmed up a full house at BW’s John Patrick Theater for the Magical Mystery Tour: In Concert performance.
“I can see the looks on your faces, and you’re wondering why Tim Misny is here up on stage and not out making them pay,” he told the audience.
“Well, I just love the Beatles that much.”
The concert included the full set of songs from the 1967 album, including crowd favorites “Strawberry Fields,” “Penny Lane,” and “All You Need Is Love.”
The evening concluded with an encore set showcasing some tunes from the upcoming 2014 festival feature, The White Album.
Musical direction and lead guitar was provided by BW grad Kevin Johnson. Vocalists for the event included James Penca, Patrick Hyzy, Mickey Ryan and Tim’s friend Nick Pankuch.
Nick has worked on several Misny projects, including Misny Thriller and “Misny Makes Them Pay: The Reality Show.”
The event, a student-founded and student-run concert series, originated in 2011 as a one-time concert covering the Beatles’ album Abbey Road.
Due to the overwhelming support for the event, the founding group of students decided to launch an annual festival. The single concert soon extended into three concerts over a whole festival weekend.
In 2012, the BW Beatles covered Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and followed up in 2013 with Magical Mystery Tour. After the 2014 festival featuring The White Album, the four albums will be featured in rotation.
